: A strong earthquake, currently estimated at magnitude 6.8, has struck along the Alaska and Yukon border.

The quake was centred about 96 km north northeast of Yakutat, Alaska.

There’s no indication of a tsunami threat at this time.

It would not be surprising if this was felt across parts of Western Canada given the strength and location of the quake.
