😢 Sharing some sad news tonight. Rushnychok's accordionist and vocalist, Evhen Osidacz, has passed away. Rushnychok was considered the best Ukrainian band in the diaspora during the 1970s, and their groud breaking musical style, which blended traditional folk songs with a contemporary sound, influenced many Ukrainian-Canadian zabava bands that followed. Between 1970 and 1980, Rushnychok recorded five albums, and if you grew up during that time, your home had likely a couple in the record collection. It was an honour to meet Evhen a few years back during a visit to Montreal. A true gentleman in every sense of the word. Вічная пам'ять. 🙏 Eternal memory.
