I needed to see this today, and I’m sharing it just in case you need to see it too ❤️ don’t forget to be kind to yourself today!
As time passes, we gain insights and wisdom that shape our journey forward. That being the case, almost every time I see someone being hard on themselves, they feel like they're lost in being waterfalls that have forgotten that they are the entire river.
Their history might be pushing them into a period where there's no riverbed. But the freefall never lasts forever. Eventually we all crash back into our much slower self.
It's in that slowness that our understanding emerges, and we realize that we were never lost. We were just transitioning between the shallower, less-wise self we were, and into the sort of deeper self that has the ability to shape the rock beneath it.
Do not mistake today for forever. Life's difficult periods are mandatory. But we can make friends with our suffering so long as we remember that it is those painful experiences that give us the strength, power, and wisdom to do what we previously couldn't.
