🇯🇲 HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF: SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN JAMAICA 🇯🇲

Calling on all Edmontonians!

YGR Immigration Services, in partnership with KC Used BMW Parts, is organizing a relief container shipment to Jamaica departing November 8. We’re collecting essential items to support youth and families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Many of our community members have loved ones directly impacted. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. 💛💚🖤

Requested Items:

🕊️ Non-perishable food

🧴 Toiletries & body lotion

🍼 Diapers & baby supplies

👕 Gently used clothing

👟 Sneakers & sandals

🛏️ Sleeping bags & blankets

🔋 Batteries

🔦 Flashlights

☀️ Solar lights

🛏️ Bed linens

🧰 Tools, nails, & screws

📍 Drop-off Location:

We will personally meet the shipment in Jamaica, where our on-the-ground team is ready to distribute all donated items directly to the affected communities, ensuring your contributions reach those who need them most.

Hurricane Melissa Relief: Supporting Families in Jamaica

YGR Immigration Services & CCAWR is collecting essential items to support youth and families affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Many of our community members have loved ones directly impacted, and together, we can make a difference.

Requested items:

🧴 Toiletries and body lotion
🍼 Diapers and baby supplies
👕 Gently used clothing
👟 Sneakers and sandals
🛏️ Sleeping bags and blankets

📍 Drop-off location:
SDG Idea Factory, 2 King Street West, Kitchener, ON

⏰Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm

For those wishing to donate online, CCAWR has partnered with the Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) to support trusted on-the-ground relief efforts.

YGR Immigration Services launched a heartfelt initiative this past April through May, collecting gently used and new items like clothing, toys, books, and more. We received donations from:

The goal? To host a Fun Day / Give Back event in partnership with the Olivia Smikle Foundation at the Brandon Hill Primary School in Clarendon, Jamaica.

We documented every step of the journey, and we can’t wait to share Part 2, where you’ll see firsthand the positive impact these donations had on the school and its surrounding community.
