The toughest part of being an emergency replacement is the unseen work that has to be done out of rehearsal hours. Literally every waking moment is dedicated to learning lines, harmonies, lyrics, blocking, and choreo.
It’s exhausting, it’s frustrating, it feels hopeless at times, but with hard work (and the incredible help of .with.greg 🫶🏻), I was able to pull it off. There were a lot of learning tears, deep breaths, bravery, and even a puke and rally. But we do it because theatre lives in our souls. It’s the hardest, most challenging, fun, and most rewarding job out there. Even if the circumstances are less than ideal.

Huge thanks to the cast for shoving with love and accepting a new player with two weeks of the run left. To This will always be your role, girl. Loved every second of you when I saw the show, and I knew coming into this that I had some huge shoes to fill. 💕

Went to Mexico!
No makeup, no hair, just unmasked goodness. I felt amazing and relaxed all week.
The second I got home (after a lonnnng trek) I looked at myself in the mirror and thought “ugh, I look disgusting”.
I caught the negative talk and forced myself to look in the mirror into my eyes and said “I am beautiful”.
There are years of sun damage on my face, wrinkles that weren’t there a few years ago, and general changes as I close in on 40, but true beauty is from the heart.
As soon as I told myself that I was beautiful, the love from my heart shone through my face, and I saw the immediate difference.
Be kind to that human staring back at you in the mirror and remember that you have the power to choose how you see and speak to yourself.
And guess what? You’re freaking beautiful. ❤️
