FIGURATIVE SCULPTURE

Participants will learn basic skills and techniques to express their ideas with representational sculpture. In this class, participants will develop various building techniques for sculpting representational forms with clay such as the human figure and gestural works. Technique development will include an introduction to hand-building for figurative purposes, how to use different tools for different textures, and how to depict the movement and different positions of a clay animal or human with a stoic object. Participants will fire their own works and learn how to use underglaze and glaze.
