Drafting Technologist

Job description
Basic responsibilities: Expected to perform with appropriate supervision in relation to the experience held by the drafter. Use company templates, reports and formats to fulfill and exceed our clients’ expectations. Commit to schedules with regular feedback on problems and progress while maintaining drawing quality and project schedules.
Direct report: Manager of Engineering Services
• Follow direction of the engineering design for required work. Consult with the engineering team as needed to ensure complete conformity with the intent.
• Review customer specifications in conjunction with the engineering documents and produce drawings, parts and material take off that meet those requirements.
• Coordinate the successful completion of multiple jobs in accordance with the global schedule. This ensures the time and costs stay on schedule and on budget.
• Work with the Manager on any issues or information to ensure all required data is available to properly complete the project. Follow up with any unanswered concerns.
• Review drawing sets and material lists prepared by fellow drafters to aid in reduction of errors to clients and minimize site problems.
• Assist in development of the drafting department and its tool set to improve efficiencies and process.
• Any other duties required to fulfill the successful operation of the business unit.
