A Gentle Goodbye – New Session Offering

On Christmas Day, while many were gathering around tables with joy, my sister was facing one of the hardest goodbyes—her sweet kitty, Thistle, was suddenly very sick. We were preparing dinner when I got the call. I dropped everything and drove straight to the emergency vet clinic, just minutes away. Thistle’s kidneys were shutting down, and she needed to be put to sleep immediately.

With only moments to spare, my boyfriend rushed over with my camera, and I was able to give my sister a final gift—priceless images of her and Thistle, held close and loved deeply in their last moments together.

Since that day, I’ve thought a lot about how many of us face similar heartbreaks without ever capturing those sacred, tender goodbyes. Our pets are family. They’re there for the quiet days, the loud days, the hard days, and everything in between. And when it’s time to let them go, it shouldn’t be without a chance to hold onto that love in a tangible way.

So today, I’m introducing a new session offering: Gentle Goodbye Sessions. These are compassionate, respectful photography sessions available for those navigating the heartbreaking journey of saying goodbye to a beloved pet—whether it’s a cat, dog, horse, or any furry soul who holds your heart.

If you ever find yourself in that moment, please know I’m here. I will gently join you, quietly capturing the love, the connection, and the goodbye.
