As a parent, I see the dedication of our teachers every single day. They show up for our kids and now it's our turn to show up for them. I stand in solidarity with Alberta teachers as they fight for better learning environments and supports for our public education system. Solidarity. ✊🏼✊🏼
Sprawl costs us — socially, fiscally, and environmentally. This campaign is about restoring investment to our inner-city communities and ensuring our children still have a future here.

Today, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We wear orange to honour the children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the intergenerational trauma that continues to affect Indigenous communities.
Calgary is situated on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Districts 5&6. This day demands we acknowledge a difficult truth: Calgary is a direct product of a colonial system designed to displace the Indigenous peoples who have gathered at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers since time immemorial.
But remembrance without action is empty.
True reconciliation requires a lasting commitment from all of us who call Calgary home. It means listening to and amplifying Indigenous voices, supporting Indigenous-led businesses, and educating ourselves on the true history of this land.
A crucial step forward is the City of Calgary’s initiative, in partnership with Indigenous communities, to establish a permanent Indigenous gathering place.
Let’s prioritize this project and embed meaningful reconciliation into every facet of our municipal planning and community life.
Every Child Matters. Today and every day.
