A little walk today on the trails by my place. Hard to believe this is Nov 1 in Calgary. Snow is coming so better enjoy it! Work can wait.

Pursuing perfection can often be more of a hindrance than a help. As Winston Churchill famously said, "Perfection is the enemy of progress", where perfection can lead to delays, stress, and missed opportunities.
Instead of focusing on perfection, we must do our best and look for opportunities for continuous improvement, adaptability, and faster implementation to propel our progress forward. This mindset fosters a more productive and less stressful business environment, leading to greater success and innovation.

How do you know what marketing channels are right for your business? 🌐✨ There are so many to choose from - digital & print - that it is hard to know where to spend your time and efforts. 🤨
• Should you be on Instagram or Facebook?
• Do I create a LinkedIn company page?
• Should I create print brochures or business cards?
• How about email marketing?
• Do i need a website? [ahhh YES, that is not a question. 🙂 A website is for all business owners. The right question is what type of website do you need?]
🧐 One of the reasons I'm posting this is because I JUST deleted my Twitter [X] account. Yes, after 10+ years and over 1,000 followers, I shut it down. A future post coming out on that soon.
✨ These tips aren't only for you to know what channels to select when you are starting your business, but also what ones to keep.

"If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito." - Dalai Lama
I don't believe the Dalai Lama was just talking about physical size here, even though we know that small things can make a big impact. For example, our lives are never the same with a little puppy comes into our family or a child is born.
What about small actions?
⭐️ A junior position in a company - You may think that data entry is a small role, but the job you do can save a company millions of dollars when it comes to tax time.
⭐️ A smile - In business, family or friends, a simple smile goes a long way in building relationships.
⭐️ Donating $5 to a cause - You may think that it is 'only' a small amount, but when many donate that number becomes significant.
⭐️ A kind word - Can change a person's life, and they are free to give.
⭐️ A hug - It doesn't matter our size or capability, a simple hug can be what a person needs to stay motivated. 🤗
⭐️ A tune - A short catchy tune will may stay in your head for days! 🎶
⭐️ A 'small lesson' - How many people remember a small piece of sage advice from an elementary teacher? 🎓
⭐️ A story told - If your book or short story changes one person's life, than it isn't too small. 👉 If you are looking for stories that will make you smile, cry and laugh, check out .gesner 's book "It's Never the Thing you Think" 📗
These are a few that remind me to not overlook the 'little' things in life. Even the smallest person, action, or words can make a world of difference. 😀

Day one of the Design Thinkers RGD Vancouver Conference. Thank you for letting me tag along.
What a privilege to hang out with all these creatives! Shout out to all the speakers, organizers and participants in the round table discussions. I learned so much about the creative process.
If you are a graphic designer, in marketing or work with a marketing team I highly recommend coming to one of their events.
