✨ Illuminate Eve ✨

I’m currently sitting in my Jeep outside the greenhouse at Bridgeviews stealing a bar of service so I can write this.

The geodome I’m staying in has no Wi-Fi, no cell service and honestly… I think that’s part of why I’m always drawn to places like this. Places that gently ask us to unplug, slow down and fully arrive.

Today was long. Airport pickups, rental runs, grocery hauls, finding special crystals, packing up so many disco balls and a very emotional Lukey drop-off before making the drive to Drumheller.

I am equal parts exhausted and excited.

A storm just rolled through here and now everything is quiet. The kind of quiet that feels almost sacred. The trees are glistening, the air smells like fresh rain and for a moment I’m just sitting here taking it all in.

I’m listening to the rain drops on my jeep as I type this. ☺️

Tomorrow, students will begin arriving for the second Illuminate retreat. It never escapes me what a privilege it is when people trust me with their time, their energy, their creativity and their investment. I love teaching. I love creating spaces where photographers can learn, connect and remember why they fell in love with this craft in the first place.

Illuminate is so much more than a workshop. For the next three days we’ll be living, learning, creating and sharing meals together. We have a private chef preparing three meals a day, classroom sessions, multiple styled shoots, late-night photography adventures, a fire ceremony inspired by my mom, and countless little details that have been thoughtfully woven into this experiCassie Molyneuxan incredible village to bring something like this to life and I’m endlessly grateful for every person helping make it happen.

My incredible team, our chef, our sponsors, and especially Tara and the entire Bridgeviews crew who have worked so hard to welcome us after a wild stretch of weather. We are so lucky to gather in this beautiful corner of the world.

For now, I’m off to curl up beside a crackling fire and get some sleep.
