Nursing mother dog taken from Nordegg forest camp (that is If what the caller said is true) has been located, she is indeed in Edmonton Animal Control not Edmonton Humane Society. We called both this morning, and told by Edmonton Animal Control she was not there. But this is her....which means the ladies that found the dog and her Shepherd mix companion in the forest lied about where they found her since Edmonton Animal Control does not take in dogs outside of the city. (or, they lied to us where the found the dogs....? We don't know! Maybe that is why the woman named Sofie hung up on us shortly after they called when we asked where they were located...).

In any event, we are on back on the phone trying to get them to help by taking her back to find her puppies. Animal Control doesn't usually do that. Then need someone who would take her back to where she was taken, meaning, we need now to find out where that was....Anyone know? Anyone seen this dog before? Anyone know about it being abandoned? Or, knows anything if at all, about her puppies? Our main worry is, puppies out there hidden and waiting for their mother.

CLEMENTINE UPDATE:

Our vet referred Clementine to a vet that focuses on FIP cases. We needed to know if she was a candidate for the only known medication that can fight this fatal virus that was legalized in Canada in 2024. It is quite expensive to buy and a round of treatment is a minimum of 84 days, so we needed an expert to weigh in.

Today the vet narrowed the possible causes of the decline of her mobility and optical symptoms to a a few diseases that impact the brain. We are not dealing with CH as her legs are not working as well they did 2 days ago. And even though he suspects this is FIP he couldn't rule out a form of leukemia.

The FIP drugs should have an impact within 5-6 days, so if Clementine shows any signs of improvement, we would know we are on the right path.

So we left the clinic with 10 days worth of the miracle medication called GS-441524. 👍🏼
