You don’t need motivation.
You need disappointment.
Not resentment.
Not frustration.
Not “low vibe.”
Not another breakthrough.
Disappointment.
Because disappointment means:
You had a standard.
And reality didn’t match it.
Most people would rather:
blame,
cope,
numb,
or reframe…
than admit:
“I am disappointed in this.”
But the moment you can say it —
without drama,
without self-hatred —
you regain authority.
Fantasy minus reality equals disappointment.
And that equation is honest.
The question isn’t:
“How do I feel better?”
It’s:
“What would be less disappointing?”
That’s where adults change.
