Thinking about joining our marathon but not sure if Bark-A-Thon is for you? Let's clear a few things up!

❌ "I'm not a runner, so I can't participate."
✅ Not true! Walk, run, jog, skip, hop, we're just happy you're joining us!

❌ "I don't have a dog."
✅ No dog? No problem! Bark-A-Thon is for everyone who wants to support rescue animals.

❌ "I have to complete the 10K."
✅ Nope! Choose the distance that works for you with whether it's a 5K or 10K route.

❌ "This is an all-day commitment."
✅ The event runs from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, making it easy to fit into your weekend.

❌ "I have to fundraise to participate."
✅ Fundraising is optional but every dollar raised helps support rescue cats and dogs, and fundraising teams have the chance to win amazing prizes!

Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just looking for a fun way to spend your Saturday, Bark-A-Thon is for you.

The Pawsitive Match Calendar Contest is almost back!

Think your pet has what it takes to be a calendar star? Get ready! Soon you’ll be able to enter your favourite furry friend for a chance to be featured in our 2027 Pawsitive Match Rescue & Foundation Calendar. All while helping rescue animals in need.

Here’s how it works:
🐶 Entries open July 20
📸 Enter your pet for $10 per animal
❤️ Rally your family and friends to vote by making donations to support your pet
🗓️The pets that raise the most funds will earn a coveted spot in our 2027 calendar!

Every entry and every vote helps provide food, veterinary care, supplies, and second chances for the dogs in our rescue.

So start choosing your best photo, spread the word, and get ready to compete for a great cause!

💙 A huge THANK YOU to our incredible partners at Pet Valu! 💙

This June, the amazing teams at Pet Valu Royal Oak, Pet Valu Bowness, and Pet Valu North Hill donated an incredible $17,000 to support our rescue—$6,000 from Royal Oak, $6,000 from Bowness, and $5,000 from North Hill.

Their generosity doesn’t stop there. Throughout the year, they also donate much-needed pet food and supplies that help keep our foster animals fed and cared for. Those donations go even further, allowing us to share food with other rescues, community food cupboards, and pet owners in need.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without the support of community partners like these. Thank you to the staff, customers, and everyone who made these donations possible. Every dollar and every bag of food helps give animals a second chance. 🐾❤️
