High time I give an update on things. I just finished round four of chemo and they have me down for another round in November. I’ll see the doctor before that and really hope the therapy can be cut back as I’m tired a lot and I’d really like to feel normal for awhile.

A huge thanks for the orders that have come in and I’m looking at putting a new website together and that the patterns can be downloaded and printed on the buyers end. The orders that have come in will be the first to be processed. I assume most people have a printer but they only print 8.5 x 11 inch papers. I can make them print out at 11 x 17 inch paper but you’d have to go to a printing company. In the past I have found that it’s rather pricey in the US to get things printed. Let me know which you prefer and then I’ll decide what size to have the paper at. The benefit will be no shipping charges and for those down south no tarrifs, although I don’t know if they apply. The mail is incredibly slow these days and Canada Post is on a rotating strike.

Let me know your thoughts and a huge thanks for all the well wishes.

Have a great weekend!

Margriet

I really debated about posting this but I’m sure there others that are going through this or have. In 2023 I was diagnosed with a blood cancer and for quite a stretch I had to take a blood thinner twice a day and had to go for blood tests. These started out once every two weeks and for a stretch once a month. In May of this year something changed and in June it was decided I also had leukemia and chemo was started. This involves getting two large needles in my stomach for seven days with a weekend in between. It only takes about 15-20 minutes and the needles aren’t bad but my stomach hurts for about a week after it’s done. During all this and now as well I go for blood work twice a week. In July it was repeated plus I was taking two chemo pills for 28 days. It leaves me quite tired and my immune system is basically at zero. A week and a half after this I had a blood transfusion and a bone marrow test. A week later I had another blood transfusion but the leukemia is in remission. Next Wednesday I start round three. They are really trying to get my blood stabilized as it’s pretty out of whack and for now there really is no cure for this. Hopefully over the years and new research there will be. I’m fortunate in that I’m only about 10 minutes from the hospital and my daughter takes me most of the time as I can get pretty lightheaded. Huge thanks to her and her husband and my doctor, she is awesome as are all the nurses. I’ve not been doing a great deal of painting and the little ones are enough and I’m staying positive. #margriethogueart #cancer #bloodwork #needless #bonemarrow #bloodtransfusion #positivity #positive 08/15/2025
