Patience, you'll need a lot of it 🙂

IRCC starts teaching you before you even land.
From getting the kids into school or daycare, to settling in, building a career, networking… life in Canada moves on its own pace.

Some newcomers get everything running immediately. Some don’t and that’s okay.
The key is: stay patient, keep learning, and trust the process.
If you’re planning to move here start practicing patience now.If you’re already here, keep going. Everything will fall into place.

Follow along I’m sharing the real-life skills that make your Canadian journey easier in the next post.

6 Life skills you must have before and after moving to Canada 🇨🇦

Skill 1: Research.
I came in as a PR and handled my process myself.
No agent, just research, digging, asking questions, and verifying information. That skill alone saved me money and reduced my landing shock.

Join groups, Telegram, Whatsapp, Nairaland. Check Canada immigration website, there are lots of info there to guide you. Get accurate information because It saves you a lot of tears and uncertainty in the long run.

In my next post, i'll be sharing skill 2 and this might surprise you🙂

The most difficult phase as a new immigrant in Canada isn't the paper work, it's starting over with kids in tow!

Some days, it feels like I’m carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders.Back home in Nigeria, there was always help. Family, friends, someone was always there for the kids, for advice, or just a little support.

Here? Everyone minds their own business. Not because they don’t care, they’re just busy with their own lives and suddenly, you realize you are on your own lol...

You’re figuring out:
• How to position yourself in the labor market
• How to understand a new system and a new culture.
• How to help your kids adjust while still keeping your own balance.

Everyone here is new but as a parent, the weight feels heavier and you really don’t want your kids to struggle settling in. Some days, it’s exhausting, and other days it’s overwhelming but step by step, I’m learning .

Every sunrise is a reminder that progress comes one small step at a time.I’m evolving, learning, growing and becoming the parent and professional I need to be not just for me, but for my kids.

I'll tell you this for free.If you have people around to help with your kids, or even a little support in your life here in Canada , you hit the jackpot.
Oh, I miss the days of being a child, sometimes I think adulthood is really a scam 😅

Have you ever felt the weight of starting over somewhere new? How did you cope? I’d love to hear your story.

I almost became a village girl in Canada 😂

Back in Naija, crossing the road is basically survival training.Cars don’t slow down omo, if you’re not sharp, they might step on your leg! 😅

But here in Canada… drivers actually stop for you. I know, shocking, right?
So what do I do? I’m still running across the street like my life depends on it 😭

If you ever see me running when crossing the road here, just know it’s my Naija survival instinct still loading 🇳🇬➡️🇨🇦 😆

Who else still runs when crossing the road in Canada? Tell me I’m not alone 😅
