Can you target fat loss from your waistline?

“I’ve been cutting for 2 months and I still don’t have the ab definition I want”

This is a common misconception.

The fitness industry has marketed tons of products in an attempt to make you believe this.

You can NOT target fat loss from a specific part of your body.

Genetically, all of us distribute fat differently.

Personally, I hold a lot in my lower back and legs.

Some people hold more in their waist area.

The reality is, when on your weight loss journey, you can’t target fat loss from just your waist.

Everyone looses weight in different ways.

For some, their limbs may get very lean before they see much fat loss from their waist.

The reality is, you need to be patient.

If you are on point with your training and nutrition the fat loss will come.

You just need to stay consistent and let your body follow its predisposed way of fat energy selection.

Micro-Goal Setting 🎯🧠

A time tested formula for getting through hard times.

The concept of micro-goal setting has been popularized in recent years as a concept Navy Seals have used during their infamous Hell Week.

Many people quit because they are too focused on the fact that they need to suffer for days on end to reach their goal.

This is an extremely overwhelming thought.

Those who are successful break the big goal down into micro-goals.

They focus on making it to the next meal.

Simple and achievable bouts of effort that, when observed exclusively, are very achievable.

The same thing can happen in your fitness journey.

A three month shredding phase seems over whelming.

“How could I commit to a diet for 90 days?”

The goal of running a marathon seems like just that, a marathon.

“I could never run for three hours straight!”

You need to start setting micro-goals.

Instead of thinking about the bigger goal, focus on what you have to do today.

And only that.

You can fight tomorrows battle tomorrow.

Leaders lead.

This summer I decided to put my money where my mouth is and set an example for what is possible in 90 days.

Our sales pitch is that we can help you loose 15 pounds in 90 days.

So that’s what I did (actually 14 but I started leaner than most).

I don’t do fitness full time like a lot of fitness “influencers” that you see online.

I did this while dealing with the following factors:

1. Starting a new job.
2. Moving to a new town.
3. Working shift work, including nights.
4. Starting a business.

I’m not posting this to brag.

I did this in order to show our clients, both current and future, that this is possible!

Reality?

Life isn’t all about being “shredded”.

It’s about finding a body composition that you are happy with and perform best at.

That being said, in todays society, the vast majority of people carry around excess body fat that hinders their lives.

Excess fat leads to a dramatic rise in disease, less energy, and poor sleep.

I watched him get strong as f*ck, burn fat, gain confidence, and break a smoking addiction.

Chris did all that while raising a young child, working a full time job, and managing a farm.

Chris has continued to make progress and just completed an endurance race up that had a massive elevation gain.

Something that, two years ago, would have been a pipe dream.

The world of cardio for weight loss is filled with acronyms and confusion.

Keep it simple!

In order to burn more calories on a daily basis we need to move more.

A simple, low impact, and healthy way to achieve this is through walking!

Increasing your daily steps has a multitude of mental and physical benefits, but as far as weight loss goes it increases the amount of calories your body consumes on a daily basis.

This paired with a sustainable calorie deficit will help increase the pace of fat loss.

Even better, try it technology free.

Time to think.

Time to be present with loved ones.

Time to be present with nature.

Go walk!

Small actions add up.

You can be disciplined af for 10 days.

Anybody can.

But can you be disciplined for 30days?

60 days?

90 days?

Consistently doing the small things right adds up.

If you want to build muscle you need to lift using progressive overload and eat in a calorie surplus for a period of 3+ months.

If you want to loose weight you need to maintain your strength and eat in a calorie defect for 3+ months.

At the end of these three months you’ll have made massive progress IF you committed to doing the little things right every day.
