Once you know this, you cannot unknow it.

At least 110 animals have died at the Calgary Stampede rodeo & chuckwagon races since tracking began in 1986.
That’s one death every 3.5 days of competition.

Entertainment does not justify suffering.

Tell Calgary’s new Mayor and Council to remove deadly chuckwagon races and inhumane rodeo events from the Stampede program.

💔 Calves used in calf-roping (tie-down roping) events at are typically just 3 months old, which is the developmental equivalent of a 3.5-year-old human toddler.

They’re chased at high speeds, roped by the neck, yanked to a stop, then lifted and slammed to the ground before having their legs tied. Research shows they experience acute stress, both physically and psychologically, during these rodeo events.

This isn’t harmless entertainment.

ACT NOW: Support an end to inhumane rodeo events at the Calgary Stampede. Take the pledge & send a message to decision-makers at the link in our first comment.

The Calgary Stampede starts today and will run from July 4-13.

Behind the fireworks and festivities, animals continue to suffer for entertainment. At least 109 animals have died at the rodeo and chuckwagon races since 1986, and the risk continues every year.

Choose compassion over cruelty. Take two actions to protect animals at the link in our first comment.
