Five ways to ensure your pet is safe this summer;
1. Ensure access to fresh water, 24/7. 💦
2. Provide shaded or air conditioned rest spots. If not in an air conditioned environment inside, try using a cooling jacket or simply a wet towel for a nice cool down. 🥵
3. No intense physical activity outdoors; short walks in grassy areas or a swim if your pet likes water! 🌊
4. Refer to the Seven Second Rule for pavement walking! *Refer to previous post for more info.🐾
5. Inside entertainment is your best friend, as well as your pets. Try kibble / treat puzzles, lick mats, toys, etc. 🦴

1. The average lifespan of a Dachshund is 14 - 16 years old.
2. Dachshunds are prone to digging holes - watch your house plants too!
3. Dachshunds can easily become obese, hence them being referred to “sausage” dogs.
