A single mother from Bella Vista Village in the Toledo District is being recognized for her achievement in the tourism sector.

Daisy Marleni Quinteros has been certified as a Guest Service Professional by the American Hotel and Lodging Association and also earned the Guest Service Gold certification from the Belize Tourism Board.

Quinteros, the first female among her seven siblings to gain recognition in tourism, worked her way up from jobs in agriculture, bars, and restaurants to a position as a Reservations Agent. She also holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Management.

She says her greatest motivation is her son, whose future continues to drive her success.
