The memories I thought held me close… slipped away.
They let me fall so hard, I shattered,
and the pieces scattered beyond reach.
I searched the floor of my soul for them—
shards of laughter, slivers of pain,
ghosts of moments I once thought eternal.
I begged the silence to give them back,
but it only echoed what I lost.
No answers. Just air.
Now I walk with echoes in my chest,
the weight of what was
dragging behind me like a broken wing.
I am learning to move
with the ache and the absence,
to breathe in spite of the emptiness.
Because even shattered things
can find new shapes in the light.
