From Trump’s declaration of the antifa movement as terrorist last September to the recent arrests in France in light of the death of a neo-nazi activist, it is abundantly clear that antifascist activism and movements related to it are being targeted and state repression against them as well as social hostility not only by the far right but also those who tolerate it hiding behind a «moderate» conservatism and their devotion to the values of country, religion and family, are once again on the rise. Only recently we have witnessed the hunger strikes of a group of pro-Palestine activists who have been imprisoned in the UK ending without the satisfaction of their demands, we saw leftist Catalan rapper and writer Pablo Hasel facing a sentence of up to five years, German non-binary antifascist Maja T. Being jailed in Hungary where they are facing discriminatory treatment due to their gender identity, Renée Nicole Good being shot in the face and killed by an ICE agent because she reacted against ICE’s mistreatment of immigrants only for that to be toped by the murder of nurse Alex Pretti again by ICE. Not to mention of course the huge number of immigrants who have been killed, abducted, persecuted, abused and deported recently in the US but also the similar treatment they are facing in other countries as well. Make no mistake the increased repression against antifascism and anything perceived as related to it as well as the concomitant rise of all forms of racism and sexism and the far right and fascism are not mere isolated incidents. They are symptoms of the general reinforcement of all systems of oppression that intermingle and co-exist in our rotten world. Against the backdrop of this bleak reality we rely on global solidarity and grassroots community networks that fight against oppression, repression and exploitation and create alternative forms of living.
This also includes to take antifascism in music scenes seriously as a political and militant endeavour, to realize that some genres like black metal, neofolk etc are in significant part a breeding ground for the culture of fascism and and not just edgy and harmless, and to continue to organize internationally together to isolate these elements and create better scenes.
Solidarity to all antifa comrades facing persecution everywhere
Death to fascism, patriarchy, capitalism and imperialism
Freedom for all
