এই সিনেমা দেখে বুঝলাম horror শুধু ভয় দেখানোর জন্যই না, মানুষের ভিতরের অস্বস্তিটাও তুলে ধরতে পারে।

Jordan Peele যে প্রথম সিনেমাতেই এমন কিছু বানাবে, এটা সত্যি ভাবিনি। শুরুতে খুব সাধারণ একটা setup মনে হয়। একজন ছেলে তার girlfriend-এর পরিবারের সাথে দেখা করতে যায়। কিন্তু বাড়িতে পৌঁছানোর পর থেকেই ছোট ছোট কিছু আচরণ, কিছু awkward কথা, কিছু weird expression এত অস্বস্তি তৈরি করে যে ধীরে ধীরে নিজেরও মনে হতে থাকে কিছু একটা ঠিক না।

সবচেয়ে ভালো লেগেছে সিনেমাটা racism নিয়ে যেভাবে কথা বলেছে। সরাসরি lecture দেয় না, কিন্তু পুরো tension-এর ভিতরেই বিষয়টা ঢুকিয়ে দেয়। কিছু scene দেখে আমি genuinely uncomfortable feel করেছি, কারণ এগুলো খুব exaggerated না, বাস্তবের কাছাকাছি লাগে।

Daniel Kaluuya অসাধারণ ছিল। তার চোখের expression দিয়েই half emotion বুঝিয়ে দেয়। Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener সবাই এমন calm performance দিয়েছে যে ভয়টা আরও বেশি real লাগে। আর Lil Rel Howery একটু comedy relief দিলেও তার কথাগুলোর ভিতরেও একটা dark truth ছিল।

সিনেমার first half slow burn style-এ এগোয়, কিন্তু second half পুরো insane হয়ে যায়। কয়েকটা twist honestly একদম expect করি নাই। তবে আমার কাছে সবচেয়ে strong দিক ছিল atmosphere। পুরো সময় একটা চাপা ভয় কাজ করছিল।

Get Out শুধু horror movie না, এটা psychological discomfort আর social commentary মিলিয়ে বানানো খুব smart একটা film। আমার কাছে modern horror-এর অন্যতম best কাজ।
