When Jesse Chambers' mum, Karen, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, life changed overnight.
He watched someone who had always been active lose the ability to move freely.
"If we could get her to walk around the island in the kitchen, that was a good day," Jesse says.
It's a memory that has stayed with him ever since.
Now, almost a decade later, Jesse is turning that memory into action.
From 31 July, he'll run 31 marathons in 31 consecutive days to honour Karen and raise funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Evergreen Games once again brought Melbourne’s board gaming community together in memory of Simon “Evergreen” Pearce, raising an incredible $3,025 for brain cancer research.
Supported by Melbourne Meeples, the event featured open gaming, raffles and activities for players of all experience levels, creating a welcoming space for people to connect through a shared love of games.

For nine years, the Terry Smith Memorial Bowls Day has brought family, friends and the wider community together to honour Terry Smith’s memory while raising funds for brain cancer research.
What began as a gathering of family and friends at the local bowlo has grown into a much-loved annual event. This year, organiser Catreena Newberry and her family expanded it into a full weekend extravaganza, featuring trivia, a market day, a truck show and shine, a gala dinner and, of course, the annual bowls day itself.
The weekend was filled with laughter, connection and community spirit, bringing together people both old and new in support of a cause close to their hearts.
Together, the event raised an incredible $6,714.50 for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, helping fund vital research into better treatments and outcomes for people impacted by brain cancer.
To everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, contributed prizes, shared the event or helped behind the scenes, thank you.
