Let’s be honest… as much as we would like to have delicious, nourishing, healthy meals on the table for our family every night….life can often gets in the way.
It’s easy to fall down in these moments, when it comes to your health.
How many of you have had sick kids, a late night at work, an incredibly stressful day or simply no food in the house… (all of us) this can often lead to poor food choices.
So… we all know that we’re not robots and that these situations are coming. Why not plan for them?
It’s a guarantee that they will arise. Of course option one is to batch cook some healthy meals and have them on hand in the freezer ready to pull out. Yet, luckily for us, the food industry has really been working hard to deliver some delicious and healthy convenience meals for just such occasions also. Having a few frozen meals on hand can be a lifesaver when you’re reaching for something on a tough night. I personally love the MyMuscleChef, Form and CorePowerfoods range. Yet there are a few tips you need when selecting a frozen meal.
1. Check for total calories and ensure they are in line with your goals
2. ALWAYS team a frozen meal with fibre (a steam fresh frozen veg bag or half a plate of salad) as they often have very low fibre content- this will also help to keep you feeling fuller for longer
3. Look for how much sodium is in per meal. Frozen meals can be notoriously high in sodium try to find meals that contain less than 500-600g/serve
4. Aim for meals low in saturated fat
By having a few delicious choices on hand, you know you’re set up for success on those nights that don’t go to plan. Help your future self.. be prepared 💜💜🌼

The best version of you is in there, you probably just forgot where she was along the way.
