Made the long, long journey to Hancock, New Hampshire for the Seven Maples BBQ Showdown, which forms part of the New England Triple Crown series sanctioned by CBA.

I was originally planned to head to New Mexico, however with that event cancellation the opportunity arose to head to New Hampshire, and im really glad I did. Absolutely beautiful part of this country.

Matt Pereira did an absolutely awesome job of putting on this event, he went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and the event was awesome.

The weekend started with cooks choice, I handed in a Surf and Turf entry and managed to snag a 2nd place.

On to the BBQ cookoff and the results were

Chicken - 12th
Ribs - 7th
Pork - 4th
Brisket - 10th

Which put me 5th Overall

I also managed to join the 777 Club along the way which is was pretty cool. I had to google what this was, but essentially I scored over 777 points out of a possible 800 points on offer.

Congrats to my good mate and legend LC BBQ for the GC and 15:13 BBQ for the RGC.

Was great venturing into the New England region, time to head back to Texas for another couple of cookoffs next weekend in Lockhart and San Antonio.

Travelled on up to sunny far north Qld for the Riverway Meats BBQ Battle. Always a great weekend up here catching up with friends and family.

The promoters Paul Miller and the rest of the crew do a great job looking after cooks and putting on a great community event.

Thanks to my mate Geoffrey Baker for giving me a hand all weekend, loading the trailer, and just being a genuine legend who was happy to help out.

Good enough for Grand Champion!! Congrats to Ty Varley and the 2 Tys BBQ team for RGC.

Congrats to all the cooks and teams who walked and picked up some cash and hardware.

This is the fourth year we've travelled to this region for a bbq contest, and we've been blessed to have won Grand Champion for the fourth straight year.

When you have a mini stroke on Monday due to high blood pressure, end up in hospital Tuesday and Wednesday, discharge, loadup trailer for first cookoff in 4 months, point it south on the Motorway to The Dam Hotel BBQ Cookoff - and still do pretty well, I'll take it!

Great work from Jason Cullender and the team from the Australasian Barbecue Alliance for putting on a great event.

Big thanks to Grant Coleman from Big GC’s BBQ for shuffling things around last minute to drive me down as I can't drive for a couple of weeks (doctors orders!) And my mate Tim Mazaraki for giving me a hand all day.

Eventually made it home from work after a few weeks onsite and had an awesome care package in the mail waiting for me from the legends at Rum and Que .
Can't wait to try this new OG sauce.
