As you would all be aware, we have many people in our community who are currently homeless, without basic necessities like water, power, toilets and a safe place to sleep. With winter coming, we’re working to get Safer Sleep Suits to those sleeping rough to provide practical support that can make a real difference.

The Safer Sleep Suit is a wearable sleep system combining waterproof protection, insulation, and mobility in one unit.
It is designed for real-world outreach conditions where traditional sleeping bags are not always effective.
Key features:
• Waterproof outer shell (10,000 mm rating)
• Breathable construction
• Insulated padded lining with pockets inside and out
• Cuffed wrists and ankles for mobility
• Front + rear access zips for easy toileting

If you’d like to be part of getting these into the hands of someone who needs one, we would love your support. We may not be able to solve the housing crisis, but we can do more to support and advocate for our most vulnerable. Afterall, becoming homeless can happen to any of us.

Just around the corner from the homeless makeshift camp on Memorial Drive, stands the Nameless Homeless Veteran memorial.

And just after ANZAC Day, it feels like the right time to remember that for many who served, the hardest battles began when they came home.

Not every veteran returned to support.
Not every soldier returned to stability.
Not every story ended with care, safety, or understanding.

Many came home carrying trauma.
Many came home to nothing.
Some were left to rebuild alone.

And right now, on that same road, people are sleeping rough in tents and cars.

Here, in our own community.
That matters.

That’s why we designed the Safer Sleep Suit. Tto offer warmth, mobility, safety, and respect to people doing it tough.

The memorial asks us to remember.
The people there now ask us to respond.

Because honour should be more than words.
Because compassion belongs in the present too.
Because we care.
Because we can.

Rockingham man Owen Farmer, co-founder of Safer Lyfe, used his own experience sleeping rough to help design a full-body thermal suit made specifically for the homeless community.

This suit protects users from the elements and keeps their precious belongings safe.
