I used to be a peace keeper…a very long time ago
I’d internalise my opinions, feelings and thoughts so as not to upset my spouse and my younger siblings
I hated the feeling it created inside me, but I placed more emphasis on a peaceful life rather than my own heart
But It didn’t work,
Eventually, it started to eat away at my self esteem and worth & I slowly became miserable
Having a Mum who’s sad and irritable wasn’t healthy for my kids,
Living in a feeling of being captive to my ideals, wasn’t living life
So, one day I decided to choose me
It was either Counselling to find common ground again,
Or, find happiness by myself, in my way
I chose me!
It took a few tough decisions and time but I found my inner happiness again
I discovered I really liked my voice, my heart and my mind
And anyone who tried to stifle my expression, was someone I ignored
Step back and look at how you act or speak to keep the peace in your life?
Be a peace maker & not a peace keeper

You know, it's pretty incredible how love can do wonders for our heart health
I mean, research shows that being in a loving relationship can actually lower blood pressure and improve how our heart functions
When we're surrounded by love, our bodies produce less of those stress hormones, like cortisol, which is a big deal because high stress levels can mess with our cardiovascular system
And get this—there's this hormone called oxytocin, they call it the "love hormone," that gets released when we're feeling all warm and fuzzy
It's like a natural way of widening our blood vessels, promoting better blood flow and keeping our blood pressure in check.
So, not only does love make us feel good emotionally, but it's like a secret weapon for a healthy heart
Plus, being in a loving relationship often means we're more likely to pick up good habits together, like staying active and taking care of ourselves
It's like the best kind of team effort for a strong and happy heart
Take it from me, loving ourselves and each other is vital to our well-being
Be brave and take that step forward to show and give love...
