On the last day of NAIDOC, we're celebrating an artist whose work graces our walls all year long – Buffie Creative. 🖤❤️💛

Buffie is a storyteller and artist, who's passionate about women's spaces and was named NAIDOC Perth Artist of the Year in 2024.

Her latest piece, that we're honoured to display in our space is called 'Sacred Portal'.

In Buffie's words:

'This artwork honours the womb as a sacred portal. A living portal to ancestral wisdom, memory and deep inner knowing. The womb is not just a physical space. It is an energetic space of creation, intuition, and ancient remembrance. It holds stories. It holds lineage. It holds the resonance of the women who came before us and the potential of those yet to come.'

'The womb is a portal to ancestral knowledge, to the quiet whispers carried in our blood, our bones, and our breath. When we tune into this sacred space, we connect with our intuition, our creativity, and our truth. When we connect to the wisdom of the womb, we connect to ourselves.'

With deep sadness, we acknowledge the recent passing of Anne Moore, a tireless advocate for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.

‘'Anne helped shape a stronger, more coordinated response for victim-survivors across WA. She was a changemaker who advocated for prevention, early intervention and perpetrator accountability, through decades of leadership at The Lucy Saw Centre Association, and as the chair of the Women’s Council of Domestic and Family Violence Services.

Her belief that women and children should live free from violence drove her to raise much-needed awareness and influence legislative changes. She was the bridge we needed between the decision-makers and those who needed support. Our community is poorer for her loss, and we will miss her leadership and guidance.’’

– Jane Cattermole, Receptionist at Luma, and a dear friend of Anne Moore.

Our deep condolences to Anne's family, friends, and her colleagues in the family and domestic violence sector. 🧡

We're excited to partner with Senator Ellie Whiteaker to improve the future of women's health – starting with our very first research paper, which puts women's voices at the heart of healthcare. (Coming in August!) 📑💫
