🚫🐾 “LEAVE IT” could save your dog’s life.
Did you know April is one of the biggest months for chocolate toxicity in dogs?
With Easter treats, foil wrappers, hot cross buns and dropped lollies everywhere, the risk skyrockets.
One simple command can prevent an emergency vet visit:
✨ Leave it.
“Leave it” shouldn’t mean yelling or repeating yourself five times.
It should mean:
👉 Disengage from that.
👉 Look back at me.
👉 Get rewarded for making the safe choice.
Here’s how to start teaching it professionally at home:
1️⃣ Hold a treat in your closed hand.
2️⃣ Let your dog sniff & don’t say anything yet.
3️⃣ The moment they pull away or look at you, say “YES!” and reward with a different treat.
4️⃣ Once they understand, add the words “Leave it.”
5️⃣ Slowly progress to open hand → floor → real-life distractions.
Important: They never get the treat they’re told to leave.
This isn’t just a trick.
It’s impulse control.
It’s safety.
It’s trust.
As a vet nurse, I’ve seen how quickly accidents happen and how preventable many of them are.
This Easter, let’s set our dogs up for success. 🐣🍫❌

🐰🍫 Did you know April is the biggest month for chocolate toxicity in dogs?
Easter might be sweet for us… but it can be incredibly dangerous for our pups.
Chocolate contains theobromine, which dogs can’t metabolise properly. Even small amounts can cause:
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Restlessness
• Rapid heart rate
• Tremors or seizures
Let’s create a controlled chocolate environment this Easter 👇
✔ Keep chocolate out of reach
✔ Store eggs in sealed containers
✔ Educate children about why chocolate is unsafe for dogs
✔ If you’re doing an Easter egg hunt, count all eggs at the end (make it a fun game for the kids!)
A safe Easter is a happy Easter 🐣

Our very first Busy Bee Co. photoshoot 🐝🤍
With my best friend and her babies, the beginning of something I didn’t even realise would grow into this.
Looking back at these photos, I’m reminded why I started.
Busy Bee Co was created because I couldn’t find a harness that truly prioritised comfort and fit. As a vet nurse, I see how often small design flaws turn into real skin irritation and discomfort for dogs, and I knew we could do better.
So we created harnesses that:
• Adjust to your dog’s body
• Reduce underarm rubbing
• Support all breeds and body shapes
• Prioritise comfort without compromising style
Thoughtfully made.
Highly adjustable.
Created by a vet nurse 🇦🇺
But more than that, this brand has become a community.
A space where we talk about proper fit, joint protection, skin health, and doing right by our dogs. A supportive space for dog lovers who genuinely care.
From that first photoshoot to now! Thank you for being part of this journey 🤍

Today Marks 1 year of Busy Bee Co 🐝🤍
How is that even possible?
This photo was the beginning, the nerves, the excitement, the “what if this actually works?”
So much love has been poured into this business behind the scenes. And none of it would mean anything without the incredible community that has supported us from day one.
Thank you for believing in us, shopping small, cheering us on and being part of our journey.
From our heart to yours, thank you for the most beautiful first year.
Where it all began 🌅
Golden skies, birds singing, and our very first Busy Bee Co signature harness in the wild.
There’s something so peaceful about this moment, just open fields, soft sunsets, and a dream we were brave enough to start. 🐝✨

🐶 Is your dog’s collar hurting more than helping?
Let’s talk about something important: Collars vs Harnesses and your dog’s throat health.
🐾Traditional collars place pressure directly on a dog’s neck and throat, especially when they pull or lunge during walks.
🐾This pressure can irritate or worsen conditions like laryngeal paralysis: a condition where the cartilage that opens the windpipe doesn’t function properly. This can make breathing harder, especially during exercise or excitement.
🚫 Even in dogs without diagnosed throat issues, repeated strain can contribute to discomfort, coughing, gagging, or stress on the neck.
✨ A harness is a better alternative for most dogs:
✔️ Distributes pressure across the chest & shoulders
✔️ Reduces strain on the windpipe and neck
✔️ Great for puppies, small breeds, large breeds & dogs prone to pulling
✔️ Often gives you gentler control without choking
🐕🦺 Bonus: If your dog already has laryngeal paralysis or other airway concerns, your vet will almost always recommend a harness over a collar.
👉 Pro tip: When choosing a harness, look for:
✔️ Comfort
✔️ Front-clip for training/pulling control
✔️ Proper fit — snug but not restrictive
Love your pup? 💛 Keep their airway happy and healthy switch to a harness today!
🐝 Bee has an announcement…
“I run.
I zoom.
I sniff EVERYTHING.
And I do it all in my Busy Bee harness.”
Because even the busiest bees need a harness that keeps up 🐾💨
✨ No rubbing
✨ No slipping
✨ Just comfy adventures
