Deep underground at the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project, two tunnel boring machines are underground carving critical infrastructure that will help secure Perth’s long-term water supply.

To document this challenging work, Sitevisuals provided an advanced timelapse camera solution directly mounted to the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operating in high temperatures, with no wireless connectivity, intermittent power and extreme vibration. With rugged equipment and deep local storage image recording, Sitevisuals captured the tunnel boring as it happened, frame by frame, metre by metre.
