High Impact Professionals is excited to announce that applications are open for the next round of its Impact Accelerator Program (IAP). The IAP is a free, 6-week program starting the week of June 16, 2025, and is designed to help experienced (mid-career/senior) professionals not currently working in a high-impact role to: identify paths to impact; take concrete, impactful actions; and join a network of like-minded, experienced, and supportive impact-focused professionals. More information is available here, including links to register for informational webinars on April 23 that will provide an introduction to the IAP and a Q&A session. Greg Sadler from Good Ancestors has reached out to me personally about an online town hall event on AI safety happening on 9 April, 4:30-5:30PM AWST. He's emphasised how important attendance is—it’s their best chance to influence politicians and media during the election. I’ll be there, and it’d mean a lot if you could join too.

Huge updates!

In 2025, Effective Altruism Perth will focus on hosting monthly social events (e.g. dinners) for the benefit of its existing, engaged members, and supporting local EA university groups*.

Due to limited and changing organiser capacity, we do not have plans to run a large number of once-off workshops or reading groups.

We will cease promotions to reach new potential members on meetup, instagram and our website. Events will be shared through facebook only.

We encourage engaged members to attend our monthly social events, initiate discussions on our group page, follow Effective Altruism UWA, join our discord server for open-ended, in-depth discussions, and reach out to organisers for 1:1 discussions.
