It's great to have some new likes on the page, hopefully we will be making some good progress over the summer.
The engine is a v8 (technically a u8 because of the two cranks) made from Kawasaki zx9 components. The two cranks run in a 7075 T6 billet crankcase, with the normal gear drives (which normally run the gearbox on the bike) sending power to a central shaft. This lowers the engine by approx 150mm, which is great news for the centre of gravity. It also allows me to gear down the output speed so I can use more typical gearboxes. Eventually I'd like to run a sequential transaxle box but until I have the cash a regular petrol rwd box or Audi transaxle will be fine for testing.
I've got loads of parts all ready, all the cranks, pistons, rods, heads, barrels, carbs, Davies Craig electric water pump, ARE dry sump pump, Patterson split dry sump tank, radiator, laminova oil cooler, crankcase, bearing carriers, gears, central shafts, high tensile bolts and much more.
So I need to continue to mill the main bearing caps, sump, top cover (shown below), bellhousing adaptor and a few mounts/brackets.
Thanks for your interest, please feel free to like and share!
