An important wage update for businesses operating within Western Australia’s State industrial relations system.

The WA Industrial Relations Commission has granted a 4.75% increase to the State minimum wage, bringing it to $998.30 per week from 1 July 2026.

The increase applies only to employers and employees covered by the State industrial relations system, including businesses operating as sole traders and unincorporated partnerships.

ECA Legal will issue an updated WA State Award Wage Bulletin reflecting the new rates.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for all of us to listen, learn and reflect on the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have played—and continue to play in shaping Australia.

Updated wage rates are now available for ECA WA Business Members.

The latest Federal Electrical, Federal Clerical, and State Electrical Wage Rate Bulletins have been uploaded to the Business Member Resource Hub.

The updated bulletins reflect:

• The Fair Work Commission’s 2026 Annual Wage Review decision
• The 2026 WA State Wage Case outcome
• A 4.75% increase to applicable federal and State minimum award wages
• Updates to several allowances included in the Federal Electrical Wage Rate Bulletin

The new rates take effect from 1 July 2026. Federal award increases apply from the first full pay period beginning on or after this date.

Employers should also ensure they are prepared for Payday Super. From 1 July 2026, superannuation contributions must generally reach an employee’s nominated super fund within seven business days of payday.
