Last week, residents from our two Northam homes came together to enjoy a visit from a balloon artist! 🦁🎈

Residents from Juniper The Residency and Juniper Bethavon spent the morning admiring the designs and leaving with a balloon animal to call their own.

It's so lovely to see residents from neighbouring homes connecting with each other over fun activities like this one.

Last Friday, Juniper Annesley residents got a special visit from a local animal farm, all thanks to two very motivated Juniper volunteers.

For the past year, Lyn and Carol have been a familiar and popular presence at Juniper Annesley, running a snack trolley for residents each fortnight.

This Volunteer Week, they did something a little extra special, raising money for and bringing an animal farm visit to the Annesley residents.

"A lot of the people here are animal lovers," Lyn said. "You go into their rooms and they've all got photos of their dogs and cats."

It was a morning full of smiles, and not just from the residents. Staff took turns holding the animals too, including Residential Manager Asha Kayaga.

For Lyn, days like this are why she volunteers. "They do more for me than what I do for them. They're like our other family."

Carol said the connection with residents is what makes it worthwhile. "They look forward to you going. You build a connection."

A fulfilling day looks different for everyone. For some it's a walk in the garden, for others it's time with family or staying active in their community.

At Juniper, we work hard to understand what that means for each person and make it possible.

We're so proud to share this result from our independent customer experience survey, conducted late last year across all of Juniper's services including residential care, retirement living, home care and transition care.

A morning tea was held at Juniper St David's earlier this week to celebrate the volunteers who show up for our residents and staff, week after week. 💜

"We celebrated them with great joy and immense pride for the ongoing commitment, compassion, and generosity they continue to share with our residents and staff," Residential Manager Rose Bonete said.
