We are proud to share that Mount Private Hospital was selected to perform a live Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR) procedure at Sydney Valves on 21st March 2026.

The case was live streamed to specialists attending the conference, enabling cardiologists from across Australia and internationally to observe the procedure in real time.

The TTVR procedure treats tricuspid regurgitation, a condition in which a leaking heart valve affects the heart’s ability to pump blood efficiently. This minimally invasive catheter based approach allows replacement of the faulty valve without the need for open heart surgery.

The success of this procedure, performed by Dr Wen Loong Yeow and Dr Gerald Yong, was made possible by an exceptional multidisciplinary team. This included our TOE cardiologists Dr Anand Venkataraman and Dr Tashi Zhaxiduojie, our cardiac anaesthetist Dr Mark Schneider, and our outstanding catheter laboratory team.

🏥Last week saw another first for Mount Private Hospital's Cardiology Unit!

👨‍⚕️The first Evolut FX + TAVI procedure was performed by Dr Gerald Yong and Dr Wen Loong Yeow.

🌟 Welcome back to Perth, Dr Primero Ng! 🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome Interventional Cardiologist Dr Primero Ng back from Seattle, as he begins his journey with us at Mount Private Hospital. He officially joined us last week and hit the ground running, performing two successful procedures on his first day: a coronary angiogram and a Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).

Dr Ng shared how impressed he was with the skilled and supportive cath lab team, whose professionalism and heart truly embody the values of our hospital.

Mount Private Hospital is delighted to welcome urologist Dr Ivan Aw.

Uro-oncology specialist Dr Aw spent his first day at the Mount performing the hospital’s first urology surgery using the new da Vinci robot. 🤖

“The advantages of minimally invasive surgery means that more patients are choosing this as an option for their cancer care. With the da Vinci robot at Mount Private my cancer patients will have greater access to this technology, providing much-needed reassurance in their cancer journey,” said Dr Aw.

The da Vinci robotic system allows surgeons to perform precise and intricate procedures, which is particularly useful in accessing otherwise hard-to-reach spaces. For patients, this can mean a better surgical and recovery experience.

Mount Private Hospital General Manager Patrick Turner said the arrival of Dr Aw and expanded use of the da Vinci robot was great news for patients.
