This study examines the benefits of iron treatments on iron-deficient non-anemic endurance athletes. A meta-analysis of 17 studies revealed significant improvements in iron status and aerobic capacity from iron treatments.

๐น Large improvements in serum ferritin (sFer), serum iron (sFe), and transferrin saturation (Tsat).
๐น Moderate improvements in hemoglobin concentration ([Hb]) and VO2max.
