Hey mama, how you been feeling lately?

Tired? Anxious? Not enough?

You aren’t alone. So many mums go through the exact same feels.

Despite what you’re feeling, you are the entire world to your baby.
You are more than enough.

Everything you are pouring out is precious. It all matters.

The endless washing piles that only accumulate. Clothing worn while making precious memories.

The inability to stop and relax. The constant googling, checking, seeing. You care, you want the best for your baby and you’ll do anything to foresee and protect.

Each day is a gift to unwrap.

Take a breath and remind yourself. This too shall pass. The good, the hard and the ugly.

We’re all in it together. We all post on the mountain tops. We all cry in the valleys. We’ve got this 💕

Resettling back to sleep is a pivotal aspect of sleep training.

That includes when/if your baby wakes at 5am.

That includes when/if your baby only sleeps 30 mins, 40 mins or 60 mins at nap two.

Resettling back to sleep is probably the biggest factor in kick starting your baby’s body clock into an epic sleep pattern routine. And it’s by far the hardest part of sleep training! I know. I’ve not only been there, but I’ve supported countless Mum’s in the throes of resettling their baby back to sleep.

Why is resettling back to sleep so hard? Because your baby has likely just had a massive chunk of sleep and have minimal sleep pressure to get back to sleep. They also aren’t necessarily used to sleeping for long, uninterrupted periods of time so dislike the fact they can’t just get up again like they normally would.

Why is resettling so important? Because it’s the fastest way for your baby to learn to sleep through that resettle period. So, if your baby wakes at 5am, I recommend to resettle till a minimum of 6.30am so they can learn to sleep through to 6.30am. If your baby wakes after 1hr at nap two of the day, I recommend to resettle for an entire extra hour so they learnt to sleep for 2 hrs at nap two. Will it work on that given day? Likely not. Will it work tomorrow? Maybe not? But will it work if after 5 days you’ve resettled every single time consistently? Incredibly likely

Sleep training is a short term plan for a long term game. That means you might not see now the fruit of what you’re doing today, you’ll probably see it in 5 or 6 days time. That’s why it’s so important to be 100% consistent in sleep training.

This is why in my support packages I support mum’s to see the bigger picture, to set achieveable goals and stay encouraged and motivated in keeping to the plan. It can be so emotionally draining to tresettle your baby, but knowing that you have a sleep consultant there championing you on often makes all the difference in sticking to the plan to achieve the goals!

Find out today how I can support, coach, encourage and motivate you to stick to the resettle plans and see the results you (and your baby!) need!

Help! My baby has just started waking around 1am and won’t go back to sleep!

Sound familiar ?!

That’s because after the 4m regression, babies hit another type of regression at 6m, 8m, 12m, 18m and 2 years - but don’t let those ages fool you because sometimes it’s give or take a month 🤪🫠

Here, your normally sleeping baby will wake up and simply lay awake chatting, cooing and maybe even walk around their cot!

This is because they are experiencing an increase in brain activity synonymous with neurological growth spurt - so their brains are actually waking them up!!

The key is to let them be - unless they are crying and unable to get back to sleep.
Usually this is because they need help getting to sleep.
If that’s the case, some gentle sleep training techniques will be super helpful in helping them through the regression.

These methods are gentle and designed to give your baby the space and opportunity to practice self settling while knowing you are there / not far away.

Do you need help through a regression or want to find out more about some sleep training techniques for your baby? Send me A DM and we can chat!
