🔐➕ Celebrating the End of Term with an Escape Room Maths Challenge! 🧩📐

What a fantastic way to finish the term! 🎉 Students in Wetj18 put their mathematical thinking to the test as they tackled an exciting Escape Room challenge.

Using logic, problem-solving, BODMAS, pattern recognition, and teamwork, they worked together to crack the clues, unlock the door, and... 🎊 SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED!

😅 Phew... no one had to spend the entire holidays locked in the classroom!

Curious about how spelling is taught at Willandra Primary School? ✨📚

Word Origins is an evidence-informed spelling and word-study program designed for students in Years 3 to 6.

During this session, a Guest Speaker from DSF, will unpack how students learn to understand the structure, meaning and history of words, helping them become more confident spellers, readers and writers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:
✅ Learn more about the program your child is using at school
✅ Understand how spelling instruction has evolved
✅ Gain practical strategies to support your child at home

🖤💛❤️ What a moorditj start to NAIDOC Week! ❤️💛🖤

It has been fantastic to see the creativity, pride and cultural connections showcased through our Deadly Door Displays across the school. 🌿

Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome local Noongar Elders, who visited our classrooms to judge the displays and spend time talking with students about the cultural meaning and inspiration behind their designs. It was wonderful to see students confidently sharing their understanding, stories, symbols and connection to Country. 🖤💛❤️

A huge congratulations to all of our students and staff for the incredible effort, respect and care that went into creating these meaningful displays. You have made our school shine this NAIDOC Week! 🌿✨
