TWO MORE OF OUR FIP SURVIVORS – CHAMP & SAGE! ❤️

Some of you may remember Champ & Sage's story. At just 6 weeks old, they became incredibly unwell and ended up in emergency care.

It began with Champ, who developed severe diarrhoea, became very lethargic, and stopped wanting to eat. He was admitted to Lort Smith for several days before being discharged after showing some improvement and eating a little. Because he was so tiny, blood samples couldn't be taken, so it was thought he had a gastrointestinal virus.

Just a few days later, Champ took another turn for the worse and was readmitted to emergency care.

Then Sage began showing the exact same symptoms and was also admitted to Lort Smith.

Despite every possible supportive treatment, neither kitten improved.

With blood tests still not possible, their faeces were sent away for testing. While waiting several days for the results, and with the veterinary team running out of options, FIP was considered. Treatment was started immediately rather than waiting.

And then a miracle happened.

Champ and Sage started eating again. They began playing like healthy kittens should, and the diarrhoea subsided. We breathed the biggest sigh of relief.

When the test results came back, they were positive for Feline Coronavirus. Combined with their amazing response to treatment, a diagnosis of FIP was confirmed.

Saving Champ & Sage came at an incredible cost - more than $8,000 in emergency care and the FIP treatment. Without your donations, these two beautiful kittens simply would not be here today.

As the EOFY approaches, please consider making a tax-deductible donation so we can continue saving little lives, especially those who need intensive medical care. This is exactly where your donations go - to give kittens like Champ & Sage a second chance.

Just look at them now! How amazing do they look? 💕
