Some stories feel too precise to be imagined.
Danny Ben-Moshe’s ‘The Watchmaker’s War’ is riveting in every sense albeit the reader has no idea of what is coming next. Every page feels tactile and hopeful, yet danger is imminent, and so is luck, intuition & a fair amount of ancestral guidance. Difficult to imagine what these characters endured, and are enduring now. Can a fact obsessed documentary film maker write a haunting novel in Caulfield? It appears so.
