FIA president Mohammed Ben ‌Sulayem has confirmed that the V8 power until will return in 2030/31.

The FIA have the power to do so without a vote from the power unit manufacturers.

TROUBLE?

Ferrari are seeking clarification from the FIA after footage from China shows that the Mercedes front wing did not fully close in the allocated time.

Front wings must close withing 400 miliseconds however an innovative 2 part closing system shows that the wing closes within the time on the first movement, however a second movement slows the closing, allowing them extra time, that may not trigger a sensor, to close the wing fully.
