I left Queenstown with a full heart and feeling incredibly inspired ~

What started as a family trip with our three boys became a reminder of what makes a place truly memorable. Not grand gestures or standout moments, but the way everything worked in harmony with its surroundings.

From architecture that quietly recedes into the landscape, to a deep connection to water, nature and slow moments, the entire experience left me inspired.

A reminder that the best homes, and the best places, don’t compete with their environment. They belong to it.

It’s a philosophy we’ll continue to champion at Sunday Homes: creating homes that feel calm, distinctly Australian, and deeply connected to the way we truly want to live.

The heart of ‘Wayfarer House’ 〜

Designed for slow mornings, casual dinners and everything in between.

We relocated the kitchen from a tight corner of the home into this light filled space with soaring ceilings, completely changing the way it feels to live in day to day.

Soft reflective zellige tiles draw the eye upward and bounce light throughout, while the combination of stone, salt pink reinforced concrete benchtops, zellige tiles and travertine flooring brings an unexpected warmth to the space.

Every detail was designed with functionality in mind too, generous storage, considered flow and a casual place for this family of four to gather around the end of the island bench.

Introducing ‘Wayfarer House’ 〜

A home inspired by the kind of places you visit once, then think about forever.

Warm timbers, sun washed stone, soft curves and little moments that slowly reveal themselves as you move through the space. Grounded and relaxed, but not without personality.

Every part of the home was reworked to feel better to live in, from the reimagined floorplan to the way each space now connects to light, texture and the outdoors.

There’s a lot to share from this one and we can’t wait to take you through it.

Windswept 〜 this courtyard was designed to do a little bit of everything, and do it well.

It allows light to pour in, connects the main and second living areas, while the stair floats through it all, tying the first level to the second.
