She chose someone else.

Fast talkers.
Big promises.

The wrong movers.

They arrived late.
Already angry.
Already aggressive.

They shouted at her.
In front of her clients.
In her own studio.

They handled the antique like junk.
Scratched it.
Dropped it.

Then it got worse.

They demanded more money.
On the spot.
When she questioned them, they threatened her.

They left.

Not just left the job.
They left her belongings on the road.

On a busy Adelaide street.
Her antique.
Her livelihood.
Exposed.

Her budget?
Gone.

Shattered.

Her voice on the phone?
Barely holding together.

“I don’t know what to do,” she said.
