Today, we remember Mr. Loui Halmos, Founder of IDM Instruments.

Loui was more than the founder of our company. He was a mentor, innovator, and a passionate engineer whose knowledge, generosity, and determination helped shape IDM Instruments and the people within it.

His influence can be seen in the values we carry forward every day.

Our thoughts are with Tommy and the entire Halmos family during this difficult time.

You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

"Your vision, innovation, and leadership built more than a company, you built a legacy."

Waterproof failures rarely happen during production. They happen after the product reaches the field.
For industries like:
• Protective Textiles
• Outdoor Fabrics
• Medical Materials
• Non-Wovens & Technical Fabrics
Quality Managers and Lab Technicians are expected to validate water-resistant performance before materials move into production or shipment.
But without the right testing method, small coating or fabric weaknesses can turn into:
• Water pe*******on failures
• Product complaints
• Compliance issues
• Costly rework and returns
That’s where IDM Hydrostatic Pressure Testing becomes critical.
The Hydrostatic Head Tester helps measure a material’s resistance to water pe*******on under increasing pressure.
Designed to support standards including:
• ISO 811
• AATCC 127
• BS EN 20811
The outcome?
✔ Water-resistant
✔ Better quality assurance
✔ Stronger product reliability
✔ Reduced field failures
✔ More confidence before release

Most abrasion failures don’t show up in the lab. They show up in the field, after your product reaches the customer. And by then, it’s too late.

In real-world distribution, packaging, labels, and coated materials face constant friction and handling that can cause:

• Print scuffing and label wear
• Coating degradation
• Loss of branding visibility
• Failed retail inspection

For QA Managers, Packaging Engineers, and Testing Labs,
this often leads to avoidable complaints and rework.

You’re responsible for ensuring:

• Packaging durability under distribution stress
• Batch-to-batch consistency
• Compliance with internal standards
• Reduced returns from surface wear issues

Simulates real-world wear by applying controlled rubbing to printed or coated surfaces.

Standards:
TAPPI T830, ASTM D5264, GB 7706, BS 3110, JIS K570, ISO 9000

With proper testing, you can:

• Measure durability before release
• Reduce field failures
• Improve packaging confidence

If abrasion resistance matters to your product quality, validate it before it ships, not after.

Manual cutting feels cheaper.

Until you calculate the real cost:

• Rejected batches
• Retesting time
• Operator errors
• Material waste

Now it’s not cheap anymore.

It’s expensive.

Most teams don’t upgrade because:
“It still works.”

But “still works” is not the same as “makes money.”

A Pneumatic Cutting Press:
• Reduces waste
• Improves accuracy
• Speeds up workflow

Which means:
Lower cost per test.
Higher confidence per result.

That’s how you scale.
