Here's a scenario we see too often in construction.

A builder's Contract Works policy lapses 11 days before a storm hits the site.

He wasn't uninsured. He just thought he was covered.

That's not an insurance problem. That's a risk management failure.

Here's what we see constantly:

❌ Underinsuring project values to save on premium — the average clause kicks in and the payout gets slashed proportionally

❌ Subcontractors on site with no independent Public Liability — the head contractor wears the claim

❌ Policies that exclude vibration damage to neighbouring properties — discovered only when the excavator goes in next door

❌ Annual policies auto-renewing without anyone checking if the coverage still fits the work

❌ Builders assuming their policy automatically covers existing structures during renovations — this is assessed case by case, and it's something we check for every client

Insurance is not a "set and forget" product. Especially not in construction.

At Silverback Insurance, we sit alongside builders as a risk management partner — reviewing contracts before you sign, identifying coverage gaps before they become claims, and making sure your policies actually respond when something goes wrong.

Because the worst time to find out your policy doesn't cover you is the day you need it.

This Easter we celebrate the ultimate triumph! Matt 28:6

We are given a powerful truth that ushers us into a living hope — a hope that overcomes every challenge, renews our strength, and sustains us no matter how difficult the situation. Whether facing health struggles, career setbacks, or supporting those impacted by calamity, this hope remains steadfast, and encourages us to continue believing in a brighter future.

This Easter, I pray for world peace, and for everyone to get along so we can get on with life and focus in growing our businesses.
