PeerPath Learning: Lantite & Maths
Can your Year 7 do this? 🔢
We’ve broken down exactly what Year 7 algebra should look like — from “needs some work” to “absolutely smashing it.”
If your kid winced at the ouch… that’s okay. That’s exactly what we’re here for.

ATAR Methods topics ranked S to C 📊
Not all topics carry the same weight in the exam. This is what I’d focus on if I was sitting Methods — straight from a qualified WA maths teacher who’s seen where students lose marks year after year.
Save this for when you’re planning your study. 👇
End of term. Recharge. 🌊
Honestly…… as someone with ADHD, switching off doesn’t come naturally. The brain just keeps going. I have to remind myself that rest isn’t laziness, it’s needed and if used wisely, it’s actually strategic.
Maths and your studies are a marathon, not a sprint. The students who perform best in Term 3 aren’t the ones who grind all day everyday through the holidays — they’re the ones who recharge properly and keep the engine ticking with small, consistent chunks.
A little retrieval practice goes a long way. 20 to 30 minutes a day on specific subjects beats a last-minute holiday cram and panic every time.
Rest up WA — Term 3 will be here soon enough. 📐

What does it look like to be teaching mathematics well? That’s exactly what Domain 2 of our Towards Excellence in Teaching Mathematics framework sets out to explain. The document, published a few weeks ago, sets out a shared professional vision of what excellent mathematics teaching looks like in Australian schools. Across three domains and ten subdomains, the document describes the knowledge, judgement, attitudes, practices and professional commitments that characterise high-quality mathematics teaching - and identifies what excellence looks like in each.
Excellent teachers design and enact learning experiences that foreground meaningful mathematics. Their teaching is intentional, responsive, and grounded in clear mathematical purpose. Domain 2 explores four dimensions of this.

5 things I use in every online tutoring session 👇
A Wacom tablet to work through problems live, Lessonspace for the actual lesson room, and TutorBird keeping it all organised behind the scenes.
What doesn’t change: every PeerPath session (individual or group) is run by a qualified, registered WA maths teacher. Real teaching experience, every lesson.
Online across WA or in-person in Busselton. Methods, Applications, and general maths support. Link in bio to get started. 📐
Most ATAR Maths students don’t lose marks because they don’t understand the content.
They lose marks doing the same small things, over and over — skipping a step in a calculator-free question, rounding too early, missing the difference between “hence” and “hence or otherwise,” running out of time on one section because they got stuck earlier.
None of these are about ability. They’re about habits — and they’re fixable once you know what to look for.
We’ve put together the 25 most common mistakes ATAR Methods & Applications students make, and exactly how to fix each one 👇

If your Sem 1 Methods exam didn’t go to plan, take a breath! Switching to Applications isn’t the only option, and it’s definitely not urgent.
Here’s what most people don’t realise: Year 12 Applications is a completely different course to Year 11 Applications. Comparing them is comparing apples to oranges.
Plenty of students make the switch between Year 11 and Year 12 — not mid-Year 11 — and go on to do really well.
If you (or your child) need some guidance on what’s actually the right move, that’s exactly what I help with, study coaching, tutoring, and course advice from a qualified teacher. peerpath.com.au 🔗
