We caved. The Murphs are now the proud owners of a shiny new STARLINK Mini. After three weeks knocking about in the outback, we had to admit it: as much as we love the idea of being off-grid and rugged, we also like doom-scrolling, streaming Netflix (and the footy) and actually being able to send a message that doesn’t take three days to deliver by pigeon. The truth is, so much of our everyday stuff needs the internet now. Paying bills, booking campsites, even downloading maps to get to the next patch of dirt. I can push back against it all I like, but I’ve realised I mostly enjoy being connected. Convenience wins. So here we are: still loving the sunsets, still burning sausages on the BBQ, but now with Wi-Fi in the desert. Balance, right?

Krisi made some new mates in hi-vis this week. The kind you definitely want waving at you over a coffee at VANSafe… not in your rear-view mirror on the highway. 🚐😉
