With Tropical Cyclone Alfred expected to impact South East Queensland/NENSW in the coming days, now’s the time to make sure your pets are ready too!

Severe weather can be frightening and dangerous for our furry friends, so having a pet emergency plan in place is essential.

What to do right now:
✅ Check your evacuation plan — where will you go, and can your pets come too?
✅ Pack an emergency kit for your pets with at least 3 days’ worth of supplies, including:
✅ Food & water
✅ Bowls
✅ Leash, harness & collar
✅ Medications if needed
✅ Comfort items like their favourite toy or blanket
✅ Updated ID tags & microchip details

If you need to evacuate, check if you can stay with friends or family first. Some evacuation centres allow pets, but they should be a last resort.
