Yes, a rent-freeze, in New York, in the heart of the US.

If it can be won over there, it can be won here.

It is outrageous that landlords can raise the rent by as much as they like, by as much as they think they can get away with.

We know that renters are still copping massive, unfair rent rises, which they either have to accept (and sometimes, this means the rest of their budgets gets smashed), or, take their chances elsewhere (but good luck with that!!).

We still think it is essential that Governments protect renters from huge, greedy rent hikes.

We continue to call for an emergency, 2-year rent-freeze, and after that, for rent rises to be strictly-capped to inflation.

We will fight for it, for as long as it takes.
